Introduction to Rehousing Programs
The County of Sacramento funds and partners with community-based organizations to provide a range of rehousing programs that support individuals and families in securing stable housing. On any given night, the County supports hundreds of households enrolled in rehousing programs. These programs focus on rapidly moving households from homelessness into permanent housing while addressing barriers to stability tailored to specific populations such as families, single adults, and transition-age youth.
County-funded rehousing services are designed to be flexible and person-centered. Common supports provided through these programs include (not limited to):
Rental Assistance and Housing Navigation: Short- to medium-term rental subsidies paired with case management to help households quickly exit homelessness.
Landlord Engagement and Mediation: Building partnerships with property owners to increase access to available rental units and address challenges that may arise during tenancy.
Case Management and Supportive Services: Ongoing support to help households maintain housing, improve income stability, and connect with behavioral health, employment, and other community services.
